Bills At Chiefs
The Buffalo Bills will be trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive when they travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in what is considered a must-win game for both teams. The game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 1 PM. ET.
Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills against the Chiefs in Week 12! The Bills were in possession of the final Wildcard playoff spot last week, when head coach Sean McDermott decided to make a quarterback switch, benching veteran Tyrod Taylor for rookie Nathan Peterman.
At the time of the announcement, some thought it was a knee jerk reaction to Taylor throwing for only 56 yards against the New Orleans Saints, but McDermott claimed it wasn’t.
On Sunday, Peterman threw five interceptions in the first half of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers, before getting yanked in favor of Taylor.
By the time Taylor was put in the game, the Bills were already facing a big deficit, and he was unable to bring the team back.
This week, the Bills haven’t announced who their starting quarterback for this game will be, but from the comments McDermott made on Monday, it is very likely Peterman will remain the starter for the rest of the season.
Can the Chiefs turn things around at home against the Bills? Since their 5-0 start to the season, the Chiefs have lost four of their last five games, and have seen their lead in the AFC West shrink, which is why this is considered a big game for the team.
The good news is if the Bills start Peterman on Sunday, it means the team has given up on their season and the Chiefs’ defense should be able to take advantage of a rookie quarterback making his second career start in the loudest stadium in the league.
Expect the Bills to have a run-heavy game plan for the Chiefs, which means they can stack up the box and go after the rookie when the Bills are forced to abandon the run.
In this week’s NFL prediction we pick the Chiefs to cover. The Chiefs are favored to win this game by 9.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is not yet available. The Chiefs should have a field day going up against a rookie, so take them at -9.5.
