2012 NFC NFL Predictions
We have listed our 2012 NFC NFL predictions by division to help you determine which teams could still be playing football in late January or early February 2013.
NFC North prediction – The Green Bay Packers
Although the Packers were sent home early in last years playoffs, their explosive offense and solid defense coupled with one of the best home field advantages in the NFL makes Green Bay one of the toughest teams to defeat in this upcoming season. In fact, most online sportsbooks have the Packers as the early odds on favorite to win the 2013 Super bowl at 6/1.
NFC South prediction – The New Orleans Saints
With the Buccaneers rebuilding and the Panthers still searching for a defense, the NFC South comes down to the Saints and Falcons. The Falcons inconsistencies will ultimately cost them the division title because Drew Brees seems to turn receivers we have never heard of into superstars.
NFC West prediction – The San Francisco 49ers
No other team in the NFC west even came close to playing as well the 49ers in 2011. Justin Smith may be the most disruptive defensive lineman in the league that no one is talking about. Expect the Rams to be competitive but ultimately, if the 49ers play as well as they did last year, they should expect heaps of success in the upcoming season.
NFC East prediction – The Dallas Cowboys
Surprise! Even though the Giants won the Super bowl, it can be easy to forget that they could have been eliminated from playoff contention with a loss to the Cowboys in the last game of the season. Also, the Giants had to stage a total of 8 comeback wins in the 4th quarter to get the Promised Land last season. It’s hard to sustain that kind of play through out an entire season.
The Cowboys aren’t afraid to make big moves in the off season and this year will be no exception. The Cowboys have their eyes on veteran cornerback Courtland Finnegan and Rob Ryan has shown promise as the defensive coordinator. If Tony Romo can keep it together this season and play ABC football instead of gunslinger football, the Cowboys will be a force to be reckoned with.
