NY Giants Tell DeAndre Baker to Stay Away
The NY Giants have told cornerback DeAndre Baker to stay away from team meetings. On Thursday, the Miramar Police Department issued an arrest warrant. The warrant for New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker. Baker, who is accused of allegedly robbing guests at a party at gunpoint.
Baker, who turned himself in on Saturday, is facing four counts of armed robbery. Also, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm from an incident that occurred Wednesday night in Miramar, Florida. He was granted bond at $200,000 ($25,000 for each charge) on Sunday morning after spending the night in the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail.
After the arrest warrant was issued, the Giants told reporters that they had been in contact with the two-year veteran. He had been participating in most of the voluntary virtual offseason meetings and activities that began in late April.
According to reports, the Giants have told Baker to stay away from team meetings. Furthermore, focus on his legal issues at this time. Baker will also be facing a lengthy suspension from the league once its investigation is over.
NY Giant Having Trouble with DeAndre Baker
Broward County Judge Michael Davis also ordered that Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who was allegedly at the scene with Baker, to remain in Florida at this time. The judge noted the topic would be revisited if the players have to go out of state for work when the season starts.
Dunbar faces four counts of armed robbery. He was granted a $100,000 bond ($25,000 for each charge) on Sunday. The state had asked for no bond for both Dunbar and Baker.
Upon his release on Sunday, Baker was ordered to surrender his carry permit and firearm. He along with Dunbar were also told that they should not have any contact with the victims as part of their standard pre-trial conditions.
According to the arrest warrant, Baker and Dunbar are accused of stealing money and watches with force while armed with semiautomatic firearms. The warrant also states that Baker intentionally threatened victims with a firearm.
