NFL Thanksgiving Schedule Redskins at Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins will renew their rivalry for the first time this season with the NFC East division lead on the line. The game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, November 22. It is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM. ET. Are you ready for some ball and turkey?
Other games on the NFL Thanksgiving schedule include:
Chicago Bears (-3.5) at Detroit Lions (+3.5): 12:30 PM EST
Washington Redskins (+7) at Dallas Cowboys (-7): 4:30 PM EST
Atlanta Falcons (13.5) at New Orleans Saints (-13.5): 8:20 PM EST
The Redskins were one of the feel-good stories earlier in the season. This is because nobody expected them to lead the NFC East. Since their hot start, they have been hit with a slew of injuries. Also, things went from bad to worse in their last game. This, after they lost quarterback Alex Smith to a gruesome injury.
Rather, with Smith out for the season, the Redskins will turn to Colt McCoy. Washington will try to fight for a playoff spot. On Monday, the team signed Mark Sanchez to back up McCoy. However, fans that have seen Sanchez in action are hoping McCoy stays healthy.
The Redskins also have a banged-up offensive line, which has hurt their pass protection and running game. They have still played well defensively and they will be counting on their defense to help them beat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.
The Cowboys are brimming with confidence at the moment after beating the Philadelphia Eagles a week ago and the Atlanta Falcons in their last game.
NFL Week 12 Betting
With the fans calling for his head, head coach Jason Garrett has gone back to what has worked well for the team in the past, running the ball. Ezekiel Elliott has been a beast over the last two weeks, rushing for 151 yards against the Eagles and 122 yards with 79 receiving yards against the Falcons.
Expect to see Elliott get a lot of touches against the struggling Redskins as the team tries to take the division lead. With Elliott playing well, Dak Prescott isn’t under pressure to make big plays anymore and can settle for the safe throws he makes well.
The Cowboys do have some significant injuries on defense with Sean Lee, Taco Charlton and David Irving missing their last game.
The Cowboys are favored to win this game by 7.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 41.
The Cowboys are playing well, but they have a tendency to choke in games they are expected to win. Colt McCoy has also had some success against Dallas in the past, so take the Redskins +7.5.
